A fundamental position which allows you to maximise your strength, power and speed in any direction, while decreasing risk of injury and can vary depending on the sport.

Why is it important?

The Athletic Stance is essentially a simple hip hinge. The hip hinge is important for life, not just sports, and it is a movement many people struggle with.


Here are 3 progressions to developing your strong, powerful and agile Athletic Stance.


Keys 🔑 to the Athletic Stance:


- Start with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart (toes point ahead).

- Lower your centre of gravity by driving your hips back and down.

- Knees over toes and shoulders over knees.

- Keep your chest up, eyes 👀 looking straight ahead and back in a neutral position.
